BIOGRAPHY
Tania Isabel Rodríguez Carvallo, also known as TIRC, is a Mexican-Ecuadorian visual artist. During her first 25 years, she moved between Mexico and Ecuador, and currently resides and works in France. Since childhood, she has been immersed in a blend of superstition and pragmatism, shaping her perception of reality. Rooted in precolonial cultural beliefs from both Mexico and Ecuador, she finds a profound connection with nature and the cosmos, where animism permeates her worldview and the pursuit of harmonious balance is essential.
From an early age, Tania has experienced events that some might consider irrational, such as having both premonitory and lucid dreams. Nevertheless, she manages to blend a mystical vision with scientific reflection, fueled by her interest in reading scientific data, especially in fields such as quantum physics, biology, and chemistry.
Throughout her academic journey, Tania has acquired a wide range of interdisciplinary knowledge. She holds a Master's degree in Fine Arts, a diploma in Biomagnetism, a Bachelor's degree in Visual Information Design, a certificate in Dance, and a diploma in Culinary Arts. These diverse fields of study have enabled Tania to merge her knowledge to explore artistic creation from a somatic perspective. Through her work, she shares with the audience her energetic vision of the cosmos, where everything is imbued with life, as everything is energy.
ARTISTIC STATEMENT
TIRC explores her energetic cosmovision through her artistic creation, seeking to understand her own existence by establishing an intentional and attentive communication between her conscious, unconscious and subconscious. The mix between her Mexican-Ecuadorian roots, her interdisciplinary studies and her present connection with new continents and cultures, is what nurtures the somatic, pragmatic and cultural representations of her works.
Through her installations, TIRC creates spaces where sculptures, paintings, audiovisual pieces, and sound performances blend to offer a somatic experience to the viewer. Handcrafted objects shape an organic and colorful environment, where clay, plants, paintings, fabrics, and other materials engage in dialogue to express her energetic vision of the world.
At the heart of her works, TIRC explores physical phenomena and poses the question of the existence of alternative realities. Her installations invite introspection, meditation, and the exploration of existential questions, blending rationality and irrationality, science and imagination.
In her universal cosmogony, TIRC perceives everything as interconnected, from the microcosm to the macrocosm, exploring visible and invisible worlds, the constituent particles of life, and the structures that contain it. Her cosmological framework allows her to explore synchronized information in space-time, recognizing life as an impulse within an evolving energetic flux.
TIRC creates intuitively, connecting memories, dreams, experiences, and references (familiar, cultural, or scientific) to give meaning to her creations. Her artistic pieces are in constant transformation, reflecting life and her own process of metamorphosis. Inspired by electromagnetic fields, she sees her works as an expression of life in motion, of information exchange, and of evolution. The result of her pieces is a dialogue of energies that traverse her mind and body, providing a language between space, time, and matter.
Through her art, TIRC seeks to raise awareness among the public about the life present in space and to consider it as a living organism in itself. Her conception of reality is based on the recognition and respect of the energy present in all things. By connecting her energetic cosmovision to her art, she aspires to contribute to the evolution of human consciousness, inviting recognition of the connection between knowledge, feeling, and universal experience, embedded in DNA and an integral part of the energetic creative process, thus offering an enriching perspective on our existence.
